Choosing a Plant Gift in Dalton: Light, Space and Container

Ask about the room, not just the recipient's favorite color

A living plant gift should fit the place it will actually live. Before sending one to a Dalton home or office, ask where it will go, whether there is a nearby window, and how much space is available. A plant that looks right in a catalog can still be the wrong choice for a crowded shelf or a room without suitable light.

Our Chinese Evergreen 'Silver Bay' is listed as low-light friendly, Golden Pothos has trailing heart-shaped leaves, and Monstera Deliciosa is a statement split-leaf plant. These are different shapes and scales, not interchangeable versions of the same gift. Read the current product description and ask us if you are unsure which fits the recipient's space.

Pot size is not a promise of total height

The 6-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch labels in plant names describe the pot size, not a guaranteed plant height. Living plants naturally vary. If you need a gift to fit beneath a shelf, on a small desk or beside a doorway, ask about the actual plant's dimensions before choosing it.

A trailing plant needs somewhere its leaves can extend without getting caught in a walkway. A statement plant needs room around it as well as a suitable display spot. Consider whether the recipient enjoys caring for plants; a fresh bouquet or silk arrangement may suit someone who does not want a living gift.

Choose the container separately

Plants in our plant collection use container choices, not bouquet size or quality tiers. Their starting price includes the first container listed; another container adds the amount shown in the order options. Compare the final selection rather than assuming every decorative pot is included in the starting price.

If the household has pets or young children, check the safety of the exact plant species with a reliable source before buying. Do not treat all houseplants as pet-safe. Ask for suitable care guidance too: the best watering routine depends on the plant, its container and the conditions in the recipient's home.

Local delivery or appointment pickup

Living plants are available for local delivery or pickup, not USA or Canada shipping. Dalton delivery is $9.99 within 10 miles, $19.99 within 20 miles and $29.99 within 30 miles.
